Series: Callahan Cowboys (Book 8)
Soldier. Cowboy. Father. Husband?
Hired to work the Callahan brothers' New Mexico spread, Shaman Phillips
doesn't know what to do about the stunning blonde he finds on his
porch…except haul her into his arms. Turns out Tempest Thornbury wants
to share more than just the returning soldier's out-of-this-world
kisses. She wants to have Shaman's baby!
Tempest came home to turn her not-so-hot past into a better future. The
sexy, broody military man's bringing that dream one step closer to
reality -- she's got twin boys on the way. At Shaman's insistence, she
agrees to marry him…and remain his lawful wife for one year after their
sons are born.
But once he's officially a father, Shaman can't let Tempest head back to
Hollywood. It's time for this lonesome cowboy to join the ranks of
those Callahan cowboys -- and open a new chapter in all their lives!
Good book. Tempest came back to visit a friend and try to make her future a better one than her past. She was not expecting sexy cowboy Shaman Phillips. They acted on their immediate attraction and enjoyed their nights together. She thought that when she finally decided to have a baby, Shaman would make a great father. She ended up pregnant with twin boys. Shaman insisted on marriage. When Tempest was threatened by her half brother, Shaman sent her away to keep her safe. He didn't want her going back to Hollywood, but to keep her with him. Shaman and Tempest were okay, but not my favorite characters of this series. They seemed to spend a lot of time talking around each other. Shaman knew that being with Tempest made him happy, but never expected to fall in love and want to get married. When she got pregnant, he was stunned at how happy that made him, and immediately got her to marry him. He made it more of a business proposition instead of telling her that he loved her, so she didn't know how he really felt. He sent her away to keep her safe without telling her why, which made her feel unwanted. For being such a macho cowboy type, he also seemed to have some serious self esteem issues, and didn't believe someone like her would want to be with him. Tempest was still trying to overcome her crappy childhood, and had trouble believing that Shaman actually wanted her. She never seemed willing to stand up to him for what she really wanted until the end. It seemed like she kept running away. I was glad to see that they finally talked to each other and told each other how they felt. The epilogue was good.
Series: Callahan Cowboys (Book 7)
"If You're Selling Something, I'm Not Buying, Cowboy."
They
weren't the warmest words of welcome for Gage Phillips, who's just been
named overseer of Dark Diablo ranch. On top of that, the Texas rover
recently found out he's a father. The last thing he needs is a woman
ordering him around, not to mention driving him crazy with
desire…especially now that he's thinking about mending his footloose
ways.
Ireland seems a long way from Chelsea's new life on the
Callahans' New Mexico spread—which now includes a teenage girl and her
father: a raffish Texas cowboy with a slow, easy grin who's throwing
temptation squarely in Chelsea's path!
But a proposal? Gage
surprises even himself with that one. It's strictly business—so Chelsea
can get her citizenship. Or maybe not. Because as far as Gage is
concerned she's already hooked one ready and willing renegade!
I really liked this book. Chelsea is the girl who posed as Jonas Callahan's fiancee when he came back from Ireland. Now she's living at Dark Diablo with her mother and trying to finish her latest book. She isn't really interested in getting involved with a footloose cowboy, even though she is definitely attracted to him. Gage has come to Dark Diablo to oversee the renovations that Jonas wants done. He also has his 13 year old daughter with him, so Gage and she can get to know each other. He feels an immediate attraction to Chelsea, but has no desire to try marriage again. I loved the way that Gage was trying to be a dad to Cat, but was completely confused by her. I really enjoyed the way that Chelsea's mom knew just how to deal with her, and the way that she helped Cat with her relationship with Gage and other people. I really liked the way that Gage and Chelsea started out sniping at each other, but when they gave each other a chance, found that they had more in common than they thought. I found the relationship that Gage had with his siblings to be very interesting, and loved the way that he ran his life the way that he wanted to. I loved Gage's proposal to Chelsea at the end - definitely a "go big" moment. I'm looking forward to reading Shaman's story next.
Series: Callahan Cowboys (Book 6)
"Holy Smokes. I'm A Father."
Sabrina McKinley broke
Jonas's heart when she left him for another man. Then the eldest
Callahan brother gets the surprise of his life when he sees her
again…holding his son. Even at six months, his bouncing baby boy was
wearing the legendary Callahan smile!
Which means Sabrina has got to marry him, even if Jonas has to drag her to the altar.
Sabrina's
been head over heels for the hunky cowboy doctor since the day she
first came to Rancho Diablo; it's always been Jonas keeping her at arm's
length. She won't settle for anything less than the real deal—the love
and happiness that Jonas's five brothers have found.
But when a
revelation about a family secret comes out, Sabrina can see Jonas is
ready to look toward the future. He won't be the last bachelor on the
ranch. After all, he's a Callahan!
Good book. Jonas was the last holdout in the family. When he found out that Sabrina's son was his also (contrary to what he had earlier thought) he wanted to make sure she married him. The problem was, she kept saying no! Sabrina loves Jonas, but she doesn't feel he is ready for marriage. He has a habit of running when he doesn't like what is going on, and she has told him he has to come to terms with his past before she can be part of his future. Jonas doesn't agree that he runs away - he just likes his time away from his family. He does agree that he needs to find out the truth about their parents, and spends some time doing that. Meanwhile, as much as Sabrina loves Jonas, she is afraid that he just wants to marry her because of the baby, that he doesn't actually love her. I really liked the guidance that the brothers tried to give Jonas, even though he often seemed to oblivious to take it.
Series: Callahan Cowboys (Book 5)
Defending his family's New Mexico ranch against a hostile takeover is the only reason Sam Callahan would even consider
getting married. With four of his brothers already happily hitched, the
youngest Callahan could end up being the last bachelor standing. Unless
Seton McKinley says yes.…
Seton came home to Diablo to hang out
her P.I. shingle. But the real reason is her unrequited crush on one
hunky cowboy. The footloose charmer is proposing they make it legal—in
name only! Of course she says no…until Sam flashes that infamous
Callahan charm. Now the newlyweds are getting ready to become a
family…of six!
Fatherhood can change a man's perspective,
especially with quadruplets on the way. But nothing—not even the
revelation of a shocker of a family secret—is going to change Sam's
feelings for Seton…and their three baby girls and boy!
Very good book. Sam was such a happy-go-lucky guy that he saw no harm in entering into a business marriage with Seton -- until the feelings turned real. Then he wanted the marriage to be real, but couldn't figure out how to make it so. Seton had been in love with Sam for a long time, and saw the marriage as a way to get her foot in the door to Sam's heart. Then he and Seton found out they were going to be the parents of four babies and their lives turned upside down. Added to that was Seton's inquiries into what happened to the Callahans' parents, and the secrets it was bringing out. I loved seeing Sam and his slow entry into the idea of becoming a father -- he was really sweet as he got into it all. I am really looking forward to the final book.
