Crime scene investigator Destiny Richardson receives the shock of her

Logan knows it's pointless trying to convince Destiny that it's against
the rules to work on a relative's case. The crime scene investigator is
as stubborn as she is gorgeous. Besides, Logan wouldn't mind getting to
know her better. When it becomes apparent that there's a serial killer
on the loose, Logan is bent on protecting the woman he's falling in love
with.

oved the book. Destiny is devastated by the death of her sister, but knows it isn't suicide. Fortunately, the head of the CSI unit agrees. Logan isn't convinced but he'll investigate further. Destiny isn't about to step back and leave it alone, so she jumps in and discovers a connection to several other "suicides". I really liked both Logan and Destiny. Destiny knew her sister very well and was sure that her death was not a suicide. She didn't like Logan at first and the way he was so sure he was right. She also was very attracted to him, but didn't trust his carefree social life. She was so very focused on finding her sister's killer that she didn't want to pay any attention to what might be developing between them. She couldn't help but be touched by the way he helped with her sister's funeral. She was also frequently irritated by the way he tried to take care of her, but also appreciated it because she hadn't had anyone do that in a long time. Logan made a great hero. He was hard to convince at first, but once he was he was all in. He wasn't thrilled to have Destiny working with him because of her personal involvement, but soon found that she was an asset. He was also very attracted to her, and wanted to get to know her. I loved the way that he looked out for her, trying to help her whenever he could. I loved the way that he stepped in to help with the funeral, calling on his new Cavanaugh relations for help. I always love the way that the family is there for any kind of support. I loved the ending when Logan was able to convince Destiny that they had a future together.

On the heels of losing her fiancé, Kendra Cavelli doesn't want another
partner, especially not one as sinfully handsome as Detective Matt
Abilene. She has enough troubles with her family's latest secret, which
calls her whole identity into question.
Is she a Cavelli or a Cavanaugh? But she can't ignore the man looking
over her shoulder during a grizzly crime scene or how he makes her feel.
As she and Matt work to solve a baffling homicide, Kendra learns the
self-confessed loner is as commitment-wary as she. And these two wrongs
make for a sizzling attraction that feels oh-so right.
Very good book. Kendra didn't really want a new partner, but she knew she had no choice. His good looks and charm were something she saw as a negative, especially with his reputation as a ladies' man. She was having enough trouble dealing with her fiance's suicide and her own identity crisis. Matt was having his own issues with Kendra's attitude. He couldn't figure out what her problem was with him, but he knew he was attracted to her. I liked the way that they were able to finally start to work with each other on the murder case, and the way that their methods complemented each other. Even more than the actual mystery involved, I enjoyed the Cavanaugh magic. I liked seeing Matt and his mom come to Andrew's house with Kendra, and the way that Kendra's dad and Matt's mom hit it off. I enjoyed the way that Matt and Kendra finally gave in to their feelings, and how they continued to get to know each other. I loved the last scene with Kendra's dad, and the follow on with Matt and Kendra in the car. I'm really looking forward to more of the Cavanaugh books.

the uncomfortable attraction she suddenly felt for her partner,
consummate ladies' man Josh Youngblood.

claimed more victims.
But when the smoldering lust beneath Josh and Bridget's breezy banter
ignited into irresistible passion, their feelings couldn't be denied.

discovering how to be a woman....
Another fantastic Cavanaugh book. I love this family and the way they watch out for each other. Bridget is still adjusting to the fact that she is a member of the Cavanaugh family, and it has left her feeling a little strange. With the reappearance of the Lady Killer serial killer, she and her partner Josh are spending even more time together. She's always noticed how good looking he is, and he has been a great partner and friend. But now she is noticing a lot more. And she gets the feeling he is too. He certainly isn't acting like himself. I loved how he offered to go with her as moral support to the Cavanaugh family party when her grandfather arrived from Florida. And the way their attraction erupted when they got back to her place was hot! I enjoyed Josh's confusion over his developing feelings for Bridget. He was strictly a "no commitment" kind of guy, and she had him thinking of the future. The showdown with the bad guy definitely had my heart thumping, and Josh's panic was kind of heartwarming. I loved the nurse's reaction to the invasion of Cavanaughs at the hospital. I can't wait for the next one.
