Mercenary's Perfect Mission - Carla Cassidy (HRS #1708 - June 2012)

Series: Perfect Wyoming (Book 6)

She escaped a psychopath...only to find a dangerous passion!

Fleeing Samuel Grayson's cult was a risky move for Olivia Conner. So risky that the single mom left one of her children behind. What she'd seen in Cold Plains had destroyed all she believed in one heart-stopping instant. And it could get her killed.

Olivia's only option was a safe house she found with the help of ruggedly sexy mercenary Micah Grayson. But once she learned he was Samuel's twin, she dared not trust him...or the way her body reacted to his. Now the two-who'd both sworn off relationships-must embark on a deadly mission: rescue Olivia's son, take down Samuel and safeguard their hearts against love!

Fantastic conclusion to the series.  I thought Olivia was pretty amazing when she managed to keep herself and her son alive on the mountain for two days.  When Micah found them and took them to the safe house, she wasn't sure what to expect.  Micah had come to Cold Plains to help stop his twin brother and ensure that he paid for his crimes.  Micah was a solitary man who had never experienced a loving relationship and never expected to.  The more that he and Olivia got to know each other, the more they came to care.  I really enjoyed seeing the way that Micah worked to find Olivia's son and Rafe Black's son also.  He couldn't believe how quickly Olivia had gotten under his skin, and how easy it was to picture a future with her.  In spite of her past, Olivia realized pretty quickly that she could trust Micah.  I loved the way that Olivia insisted on helping Micah when he went after the children, and again when she refused to leave Cold Plains without him.  I hope there is a follow up to the story of Cold Plains.

The Perfect Outsider - Loreth Anne White (HRS #1704 - May 2012)

Series: Perfect, Wyoming (Book 5)

How can she leave him to die? June Farrow works for Cold Plains Search and Rescue as cover for her real mission—helping Devotees escape from Samuel Grayson's evil cult. The rugged man she finds in the woods has no memory, but evidence points to his being one of Grayson's murderous enforcers. Hardwired to save lives, June's only option is to take him to the safe house.

"Jesse" is the name on his belt buckle—that's about the only thing he knows. Now he's being held prisoner by a beautiful stranger. The fierce attraction between them threatens to awaken details from his past. But how can he even trust himself when he might destroy those he's trying to protect?

Very good book.  When June finds Jesse injured in the woods she has no choice but to bring him back to the safe house to save his life.  She locks him up to protect the inhabitants, but as she questions him she gets the feeling his amnesia is real and that he is no threat to them.  Jesse feels he's there to do something concerning Samuel Grayson, but he can't remember what.  The more time they spend together the more their attraction grows, and the more Jesse fears that he might cause more harm than good.  I loved the way Jesse tried to hard to protect June.  By the end of the book you could see how much they loved each other.  I'm really looking forward to the last book in the series and seeing Samuel go down.

Lawman's Perfect Surrender - Jennifer Morey (HRS #1700 - Apr 2012)

Series: Perfect Wyoming (Book 4)

The heat between them is instantaneous. Irresistible. But police deputy Ford McCall has a job to do. And no self-respecting lawman would let a woman, even a sexy brunette like Gemma Johnson, distract him. He knows that evil has come to rural Cold Plains. And if he doesn't want the petite newcomer to be involved, he can't take that risk.

Gemma Johnson never saw it coming. She fled from an abusive marriage and thought she'd gotten away. Now her violent ex has come after her, and by Ford's side, she's stumbled into an even larger plot. Everything screams for her to turn to the rugged lawman. But desire can lead to danger, and there's only so much her vulnerable heart can take....

I have really liked Ford throughout the series.  He is one of the few residents who hasn't fallen for Grayson's brainwashing.  I loved watching him as he stood up to the sheriff while doing police work the right way.  When he is assigned to protect Gemma from her ex, the attraction between them explodes.  While the attraction was a good thing, I found their constant lack of control a bit off-putting considering the danger they were in.  It was interesting to see how Gemma's liking of Grayson began to erode the more time she spent with Ford and the more she saw what was going on in the town. In the side story, I really liked the way that Dillon stood up for his mom and protected her.

A Daughter's Perfect Secret - Kimberly Van Meter (HRS #1696 - Mar 2012)

Series: Perfect Wyoming (Book 3)

There's something rotten in Wyoming.

With its beautiful, blissful residents and close-knit community, Cold Plains seems the ideal place to settle down. But Dr. Rafe Black senses the crack in its veneer the moment he arrives. On a desperate mission, he can't allow anything to stand in his way. Including the captivating woman who could be harboring the town's most horrific secret…

Reeling from the revelation that she isn't who she thought she was, Darcy Craven isn't leaving until she uncovers the truth about her past. She knows she shouldn't trust the handsome healer with the sad smile. But every step brings Rafe and Darcy closer together—and closer to a truth that could cost them their lives.

Good book.  I liked Rafe a lot.  He was a good doctor, providing care to the residents that wasn't through their clinic.  He was also trying to find his son, and helping the FBI try to find out what Samuel Grayson is up to.  When Darcy came to town, he hired her to work as his receptionist.  Darcy had come to town after finding out she was adopted, wanting to get a look at the man who was her father, and who her mother was desperate to keep her away from. It wasn't long until they gave in to their attraction.   They also found themselves working together to find out what was going on in the hidden infirmary, and putting pressure on the local cops to find Rafe's son.  I enjoyed the story, and it had a good conclusion, though no resolution on Darcy and her father as yet.  I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

Rancher's Perfect Baby Rescue - Linda Conrad (HRS #1692 - Feb 2012)

Series: Perfect Wyoming (Book 2)

Susannah Paul had been grateful to the Devotees for helping her when she was pregnant and alone. But when her baby was born with a minor defect, she discovered the horrible truth about Cold Plains. And she ran. Desperate and exhausted, she found refuge at the Pierce ranch...and a savior in surly Nathan Pierce.

Nathan had plenty of reasons to distrust the Devotees...and Susannah had been one of them. But as the delicate beauty insinuated herself into his life and his heart, Nathan realized she was different. And very much in danger. Soon nothing mattered more than protecting Susannah and her child from the evil closing in around them.

Good book.  At first, Susannah didn't believe that Grayson had any idea of what was going on with his followers.  She wanted to believe that he was as good as she believed.  When she found out what was suspected, she took the baby and ran.  When Nathan found her in his barn, at first he wanted nothing to do with her.   As he got to know her, he wanted to help her break free of the Devotees' brainwashing.  And then he started to have feelings for her and the baby.  Susannah also fell in love with Nathan, and would do anything to keep him and the others on the ranch safe.  When she had a chance to do some investigating she took it.  The conclusion of this one was satisfying, while leaving the greater story going strong.
